The Ray Of Hope

As I closed my eyes, all I could see was darkness had caught hold of me

No matter how much hard I was trying to push it away from me 

I was just not able to loosen the grip. 

It was so tight that I felt suffocated 

As I was struggling to find my way out, all I could think of was, this is how humans are supposed to feel when they get stuck.

I had no clue where I was, but all I was sure of was that I didn’t belong here.

And if at this very moment, I have found myself here, struggling to discover my path,

Maybe destiny wants me to embark on a new journey, an alternative path

Something bigger is in store for me; this is just a process to reach there.

Seeing me stop struggling, darkness asked me, what are you smiling at?

You are in your most uncomfortable zone. There is no light, no way to escape.

You have nowhere to go; you are stuck with me

I smiled and answered, you know I am called Ray of Hope for a reason

No matter how dark it is, a small ray of light suffices to light the path.

You know when people have faith, and they keep me intact in their thought process

I help them sail through anything and everything.

I may appear as a small ray of hope only but don’t underestimate my strength

s make me their best friends, I create miracles in their lives.

You think you can keep me captive, but what you don’t know is my determination is much stronger than yours.

When I am determined and focused on anything, neither you nor any hurdle can stop me from reaching where I want to be 

And even before you realize I’ll slip from your captive, and I shall be long gone.

One small ray of hope suffices to move mountains, then you are just darkness

You cannot stop you from spreading my light, but my light suffices to lighten up and remove darkness

And once it happens, you’ll no longer exist, so it’s just a matter of time.

While this conversation was going on, darkness didn’t realize its grip had loosened 

and even before it could understand what had happened, Ray of Hope had got itself free

And while a ray of hope was moving forward to reach its goal,

All darkness could think of this ray of hope was strong, then it appeared to be 

When Ray of Hope met Goal, it asked, how did you get past the darkness and reach here?

It smiled and replied that I had focused my energy on reaching there, that it became easier to get through the darkness

after all, reaching here is worth facing all the struggle.
