The Passage
The Passage
Waking up as if from a long sleep
Someone must have heard me weep
I found myself in a new world
Hands reached out to comfort and hold.
Everything started with nothingness
There were no feelings of sadness
All the memories had been wiped clean
The world was as it had always been.
This world had certain things new
But initially I discovered a few
Lush green forests, streams and sea beach
A courtyard which soon came within my reach.
A family with parents and siblings
I grew up, saw more things
The world kept on expanding
The horizon kept on rising.
I transcended two
spheres
Without any knowledge of fears
Sometimes home and outside world overlapped
I Never found myself trapped.
The school was where you went in the morning
Came rushing back just before evening
It was only home-cooked food
Served with love to entire brood.
Ten years were gone in a blink of eye
Some relations disappeared, some stayed nearby
I had moved beyond the narrow confines
And discovered that the world never moved in straight lines.
Those days perhaps passed too fast
Perhaps good or bad days are never meant to last
Every morning I think of days gone
Reminiscing of yesterdays alone.
