The Pain Behind the Smile
The Pain Behind the Smile
Love gives something — a feeling hard to name,
It holds both happiness and silent pain.
It starts with a smile, so soft and shy,
And creates butterflies fluttering inside.
Whenever we see our partner nearby,
It feels like to die — no reason why.
That moment brings a sudden shock,
Heavy heartbeats that race and rock.
Butterflies in the stomach rise,
Breath becomes short, lost in their eyes.
Unconscious thoughts, a trembling chest,
One eye contact steals all the rest.
It’s something different, words can't say,
Many feel it, but can’t explain the way.
I try to describe what others hide —
That strange warm storm we hold inside.
In the beginning, it makes us glow,
With unwanted smiles that overflow.
They become someone who truly cares,
Supporting us in joys and despairs.
They stand by us in every fight,
In darkest days, in softest light.
But I don’t know why love won’t stay,
Why it fades and walks away.
They walked away with laughing eyes,
While their heart broke in silent cries.
Pretending joy in every place,
Wearing strength like a fragile face.
Some are separated by life's cruel test,
Yet the pain remains deep in the chest.
If they say they've moved on — it’s not real,
Because true love, a good soul will always feel.
Years may pass, yet love remains,
A silent echo, sweet and strange.
If God does all things for our best,
Why send a love not meant to rest?
Maybe it's a lesson — or destiny’s voice,
But good memories feel like slow poison’s choice.
Not just in returned love it hurts the most,
Even one-sided love becomes a ghost.
Sight love too — where nothing's said,
Still breaks the heart and haunts the head.
We carry it through time and tide,
A love that lives, though left outside.
And still, we smile as if we’re fine,
Hiding love we left behind.
Some stories end without a sound,
Yet their echoes follow us around.
We hold their name in quiet prayers,
Wishing they knew how much we care.
Maybe not all love is meant to stay —
But true love never walks away.
