The Quiet Ache

The Quiet Ache

They say one-sided love is sweet,
that just seeing someone is enough.
But truth is—it hurts more than words can say.

A girl smiles outside,
yet inside she breaks,
every time her heart runs after him.
When she misses him,
she searches everywhere,
just to catch a glimpse.
But even that glimpse
feels like both heaven and pain.

He never sees her,
his eyes follow another girl.
And when they do,
she feels her soul tearing apart,
as if her heart is crushed silently.

She tells herself not to love,
she tells herself it will only fail.
But her heart does not listen.
It still waits,
still searches,
still aches.

People say love comes from the soul.
But she knows—
sometimes it is only beauty
that decides who is seen
and who is left unseen.

Still, she carries that nameless pain,
still, she waits without reason,
still, she cries without words.
Because sometimes love
is not joy at all—
it is a quiet ache inside.
