The Little Wave

The Little Wave

I started my life as a little wave,

A little wave, in the deep blue sea,

I marched in grace, towards the shore,

Not knowing what's there for me.

A white little foam came and talked to me,

It wanted so much to be my friend,

I sneered in pride, at the little froth,

And before it started our friendship end.

I looked at the bellows,

The large big waves ,

With awe and wonder I adored so much,

I thought if I could be like them,

And craved for their mighty touch.

I glanced at the shore and fear seized

me,

What will happen when I crash on the beach,

With anxious bouts I dragged on,

The winds howling in a harsh shrill screech.

I met the shore and closed my eyes,

Dazed and trembled in the shock,

But in the end I did realize,

Before I crashed on the rock.

The great big bellows and the little froth,

The little wave which I know as me,

Are all but one the water itself,

I suddenly realized in a moment of glee.

There was no wave,

There was no froth,

We were all the water all along,

In vain we had our foolish ego,

To water we had all belonged.
