The Little Girl And Me

There was this little girl might be nine or ten who asked me,

Why is that wherever I go I always see,

People always covering their face, what is it, she did ask,

Everyone should wear it I said it it is called a mask.

She asked if you don't wear it what will happen to you,

You know something that is always true,

There is an object that is called a virus,

 What is a virus, she asked, so I explained to her thus,

It's a small unseen object that goes,

In to your body through your mouth or nose,

Then it makes you so sick you will be ill it's true.

Then you cannot play so what will you do?

So now it's my turn, what will you go home and do I ask,

She says I will go home and wear my mask.

I will tell my friends to wear it always.

I will tell them, it's your new homework 

nowadays,

Or else all of you will fall sick one day,

Then they will indoors have to stay,

to be safe, wearing your mask is the only way.

That is the only way in the future they can play.

I felt happy the girl understood the importance of a mask,

She promised me that it would be her new task,

She would spread the word around to everyone every day,

That wearing mask is the only safe way.
