The Light Of Life...

Light beckons life and life happily follows,

Far away from the deep darkness of gallows,

Those who have seen all shades of darkness,

See a stream of light in life's every moment.

Everyone has a story to tell, their lost dreams,

As if the moving clips of songs and screams,

You see those unstoppable souls in a hurry,

Every day, they make ends meet for a story.

In the big cities away from the silent villages,

The city's canvas offers its zooming images,

The tired legs work hard to earn a slice of life,

The wait in the eyes fighting within, every strife.

The earliest dream was like the first crush,

Bereft of wealth, only happy and gregarious,

Then we joined the race of amassing things,

But, memories of that joyous chaos still rings.

Life was never about having more of everything,

Festivals were for friends, food, new clothing,

How people, in the big world of bigger cities,

Surviving to sell the crowd, their little dreams.

We didn't have a rich world of expensive gifts,

We had myriad dreams on our dimly-lit streets,

The lights here only revealing how lonely we are,

The dreams of being happy to have gone too far.

The child with those innocent eyes, a big grin,

She was amazed at all stuff from the sunshine, 

To the clueless birds settling in the colorful tree,

You wonder how, what it takes for one to be free!

We realize it's a simple world of simpler needs,

Life craves for a hued stream of colored lights,

They go like emotion, compassion, and love,

Albeit, the journey takes some time to evolve.

We could build a better world by holding a hand,

That little tender touch of love to make it grand, 

Life, like light, is to be up there to light up others,

So they grow, smile and love where it all gathers.
