The Girl Under A Tree

She looked upset, she looked puzzled,

As she stood motionless under a tree, drenched,

In the morning showers, that clattered & shattered,

Her dreams, her emotions and made her baffled.

Whether she should go back to her place,

Or still pursue her long vigil further to trace,

The long trails of her past & her lost grace,

That almost ridiculed her stature and life in the present days.

She looked around in desperation as the rain poured,

She could feel the chill with her wet clothes around,

The strong wind made conditions worse, yet no one appeared,

With a dashed hope, immersed in a grope, she decided to move ahead.

To move ahead or to go back was always a dilemma,

Life is to look forward and not to move back in a trauma,

Life will present opportunities and to grab them in both hands should be your dharma,

Not to succumb under pressure or bow down to a shock or in a tragic drama.

So she decided to forge ahead and the rain couldn't deter her,

Neither the fear of consequences could prevent her,

Nor the prospect of losing company or support could refrain her,

In the pursuit of her goal, and new dawn awaited her.

She vowed to bury her past, to forget all those bleak occurrences,

Though it was tough work to get rid of those sweet, bitter experiences,

But she had made up her mind & determined to overcome all disturbances,

Confident not to allow herself to get entangled in any such recurrences.

It's a common phenomenon that most of us lose our foothold,

It's a familiar experience to be under stress or in a stranglehold,

But to come out of it & look forward to a better day ahead proves you to be bold,

Remembering your strengths & weaknesses and maintaining your stronghold.
