The Essence of Freedom

Freedom of Mind, the soul’s open gate,

Where thoughts wander wild, unchained by fate,

In the quiet corners where dreams take flight,

Freedom’s essence shines, a beacon of light.

Freedom of Speech, the voice of the heart,

To share, to question, to craft, to impart,

No fear of the shadows that silence imposes,

In truth, it blooms like a garden of roses.

Freedom from Inequality, a world that’s just,

Where all stand equal, inequity and trust,

No walls divide, no chains confine,

In this freedom, humanity aligns.

Freedom of Expression, the artist’s hand,

Colours of courage brush across the land,

From canvas to words, the truth is unveiled,

In this freedom, no voice is curtailed.

Freedom in Politics, to choose who leads,

To vote with conscience, to plant the seeds,

Of hope, of change, of voices heard,

In this freedom, democracy is stirred.

Freedom from Vices, from smoking, from drink,

Breaking the chains that cause us to sink,

To breathe fresh air, to live life anew,

In this freedom, our strength is true.

Freedom of Voice, against hate and divide,

To stand against darkness, to take the side,

Of peace, of love, of communal grace,

In this freedom, we embrace the human race.

Freedom is what keeps us close,

In life’s fabric, where the sun glows,

It’s the right to be, to speak, to live,

In this freedom, we truly thrive.
