Tempestuous Deep Seas
Tempestuous Deep Seas
I grew up in the shallow seas,
Surrounded by its waters, so turquoise.
I never wandered farther from the shores,
Enjoying the coast, sometimes eating s'mores.
But the deep waters often tempted me.
Those distant storms quite lured me.
The wild wanderer in me wanted to be free,
I longed to swim in those darkest waters of the sea.
One fine day I broke my promise,
I traversed far away from the shore.
I swam over towards the horizon,
Where the sky meets the waters, I had expected complete peace.
But, that deep-sea turned out to be treacherous.
The once calm waters suddenly turned tempestuous.
Those deep dark waters screamed murder,
Then I sensed, I might have done a blunder.
The waters seemed to surround me,
They engulfed me and tossed me roughly,
I panicked and screamed and glanced around frantically,
But nowhere did I see any help in the dark sea.
Then suddenly a realization struck me.
The more I screamed, the more these waters seemed to scare me.
I decided to be from my fears, free,
And happily embrace the tempest around me.
I swam in those tempestuous waters that day.
And swam back to the shores in a victorious way.
I often swam into the tempestuous deep seas since then,
I long back left behind my supposed safety den.
