I Shall Protect The Trees
I Shall Protect The Trees
Times keep on changing, we keep on moving
But theses giant trunk rooted, shared our childhood memories
Swinging, hanging, hopping, and singing with little birds
O ! dear trees you are ornaments of parks and gardens
What a grandeur museum like green temples
In morning, watching you is just like watching god.
Whenever we need you, you there for us
Embellish our taste with juicy fruits, lingering
Adorn your love on special days with colourful blooms
And whenever I am tired, stressed with my problems
I seek peace under your wide flung branches
How sweetly you fan cool breeze in scorching summer
Whenever we feel oxygen in our lungs
Remember tall trees are in your service
With no demands, no conditions signed
Day and night on our duty, yet not spared from camp fires
And in return we reward, forest fires; assassination of tress.
O! tress you have been boon on this planet for years
We constructed our homes, when you are brutally axed
Yet we human never appreciate your dedicated service
Neither value your importance, you shower on us generously
And now we you are dying each day, each hour, each second
I am still a mere spectator, letting you disappear from earth.
Oh! no, no, no, I am not going to happen this -
I pledge I will save you, I pledge I shall protect our trees
From all selfish human needs and wants, blinded by desires
I will appeal to all tree admirers, who are still breathing afresh oxygen
O’ !trees, O’ dear trees you are our Saviour, you are our best friends
Family and home for millions of creatures and light of our souls!
