Dream Of A Groom

I am one of the groom, going to start a new life today,

I am smart young and enthusiastic guy,

I am a vegan, by birth,

I have lots of friends, some are fair,

Some are dark, but I have been popular among them.

Today all of us are going to start a new life,

It's time to get ready, there comes the groom's makeup;

First a good bath,

Then we will be dressed with flowers,

And the red tilak.

Now I am walking along with my friend,

It's crowded, with the wonderful smell of fragrance,

The event is inside a temple,

I can see the big utensils and,

Logs of woods being used for cooking.

People around me are buzzing,

I can hear the wonderful music,

And folk dance for the event!!

I can't expect to have a,

More memorable day than this,

Thank you God for this life!

Ah!, here we have come to the place finally,

I haven't seen the bride yet, where is she ?

Here comes some one!!

A huge beast with big moustache,

I heard bad about him from my friends and elders,

Why is he here?

What is he having in his hand?

A black metal with a sharp edge,

Do they use it here? I have never seen it!!

Why is he raising it above my head?

I just speak one language, “mayeeeee...”
