Scent Of Rain
Scent Of Rain

The first showers of summer, during lent,
Evoked the nostrils to the rain scent,
Some call it mystical, as from heavens they descent,
For the intellect, it is a scientific ascent,
It is a joy for most, a feeling so nascent,
For the rest, it is a lifeline and a present,
It is free and needs no consent,
Government concerned, can't tax a cent
For the earth to be quenched 100 percent,
It has to be harvested with no enforcement,
Forests burned killing everything so recent,
Not sure if it's a nature's penchant,
Most wishing rain remains constant,
Water bodies and trees being its merchant,
Save thy environment, you selfish peasant,
Shockingly, surprising, the second most populous nation,
Breeding like pests, to a future so uncertain,
I wish Thanos’s snapping fingers were real and permanent.
