Roses

Young Dorothy heard the doorbell ring,

And went to attend wearing her bling,

It was exactly on time,

With her excitement rising to prime.

As she opened the door,

The ecstasy on her face appeared highly more.

Right before her, was standing a gallant,

And the world appeared absolutely silent,

As they paused for a beguiling moment.

Held in his hands were a ring of  diamond ,

And a bunch of roses.

"Would you enlighten my world,

By being the partner of my life ?"

Kneeling before his lady love, spoke the young voice.

Without wasting even an inch of the vibe,

She nodded her head,

Knowing there was no need for any second choice.

The alarm suddenly started beeping,

And poor Derek, finally realizing,

Once again he had been hallucinating.

The memories he had been clinching.

As he got ready to drive to his destination,

He paused for an instant,

At the shop in his imagination,

And then drove the distant,

Buying a bouquet of roses.

He finally stood in front of his wife's grave,

Trying to make his heart brave,

With water-filled eyes,

He placed the bouquet on top, and sighed.

"Roses, Roses, Roses,

Often addressed as the happiness doses,

You are believed to be the epitome of pure love,

Which even made us cove,

Even today, the only thing that reminds me of her,

Is nothing but you dear,

No wonder being so aesthetic among flowers,

What's enigmatic is your bright red color.

All these years,

The only path I followed was of sorrow,

Every time I had you amidst those tears,

Hope is the only thing I could borrow,

With cancer engulfing her long back,

I had almost lost my mental track,

And her leaving me behind, alone,

Your presence brought those joyous memories in a gallon."

Saying this, He smiled,

As a few drops fell onto the white architecture.
