Romance in Winter
Romance in Winter
When a northeaster dumps
Heaps of snow at the doorway
And seals of the exit for days
Worry not for my foot prints
On the path and the trails.
Bother not that my shadows
Emerge not behind the trees
Decked in tonnes of White Snow.
And panic not that the blizzard
Has whitewashed your love
And your memories in the chill.
I shall be still painting your hugs
Into fantasies of a spring
That shall sprinkle the snowdrops
Among the trails where our kisses
Remain etched forever among
Silent vegetations that are witness
To a love that will live till we live.
