Remembering Them
Remembering Them
They came across a sea,
And breathed our land’s fresh breeze.
Their intentions not clear but for sure bad,
Loaded rifles and guns hidden they had.
Humanity for them was way too high,
Their target was our big city Mumbai.
Their strength was unknown,
As terrorists now they are known.
They could have been an army of 100 or a mere group of 7,
Yes,this is about the attacks of 26/11.
Loitering around they went to their respective checkpoints,
Soon it was telecast that many were killed on gun points.
Their bags carried grenades and fruits and biscuits,
Their mind content with destructive circuits.
The good crowd soon ceased,
As the invaders became unleashed.
Serious and grave faces all around,
Many were killed before our brave men went on a city round.
The foreigners had taken over The Taj Hotel, Nariman Point and CST Station,
This news by midnight had shook the entire nation.
Over the walkie-talkie through sound waves it was spread,
Many sons injured and parents were found dead.
They were students they had told,
They had simply lied.
Hemant Karkare the bold,
And Vijay Salaskar, the encounter specialist too had died.
Blood stains and The Taj shining with fire could be seen,
The terrorists on their mission were too keen.
Everywhere the sound of bullets and bursting grenades could be heard,
The question prevailing was, what out of this have they earned?
They had kept our army busy, they kept us involved,
After a fierce battle of almost 2 days it was announced that the attack has dissolved.
Its been years but the triumph of terror is unforgettable,
And it is obvious as the attack was abominable.
Our men after the fight were dead tired,
While some got the opportunity to be called martyred.
This poem is in their remembrance,
And for their family's’ grievances.
And help us to remember those soldiers,
Who rose again but on shoulders.
