Many a time when my life seemed grey

I have wished to see a brighter day

A day of promises, light and gay

One that would whip my worries away.

My thoughts keep wandering far and astray

There is much to be done, I can't waste a day

One step at a time is the proverbial say

Many having taken, I'm still on the way.

My dreams reflect my deepest thoughts

To portray them in vague bleary bits

They oft do shed some light on my woes

Gives me hope and the grit to move on.

I know there's a light at the end of the street

I can hear the music, but its far and faint

My feet treads on, with more vigor and zeal

My path is clear though the journey is long.
