Reassurance

I am lying next to you

Awake now while you sleep,

For death has just released me 

But in your dreams, you only weep.

If only you could see me

So peaceful and so serene,

But you must live a little more

And carry on with your own dreams.

And know that one day you will wake up 

And see me right there by your side,

Then you might know for sure that

I'm still here and then I never really died.

But for now, you must go on

And try to be strong,

But I hope that you will still

Try to look for me in wonderful things,

In the quietness of starlight

Or in the warmth that the sunshine brings,

If you stand really still

You might hear my voice calming you.

And to remind you that it is alright 

Because I am right here beside of you,

And I even whisper to you

In the stillness of the night.

Of course, you are going to cry

But that's because you miss me,

And your soul will even ache

But please know that I am here.

A breath away, waiting for you to wake 

So know that life is just a dream,

Of love and fleeting pain
