Rani Maini and Prince Gobind

Fateh Chand was the landlord of Patna

He was commonly known as Raja

Maini was the wife of Fateh Chand

People of Patna called her Rani.

Fateh Chand and Maini had no issue

For all the years they had been through

One day Rani saw the Prince Gobind

Playing in the company of his child army

She had heard from people around that

 Prince Gobind could read people's mind

She thought of feeding Prince and his friends

With tasty gram curry and fried crispy cakes

She immediately went to the kitchen and started

Preparing these dishes for these children

After preparing these mouth watering dishes

She sat outside in wait with hopeful wishes

In a short while the leader of the child army

Came in her courtyard with his hunger plea

Rani made Prince Gobind to sit in her lap

And maids lovingly served food to them

After enjoying that motherly bliss, Rani 

Asked the Prince to come to her daily

This practice went on joyfully 

for quite sometime regularly

One day Rani's maid  asked the Prince

Bless our Rani to have a son like you

To this Prince uttered 'In this world 

No one is like the other, so I'm her son

Rani Maini also accepted him as her son

Food practice continued till Prince left Patna

Even after his leaving for Punjab

Rani kept serving the child army

At this place now is Gurdwara Maini Sahib

And curry and cakes are served there daily
