Quintessence

Time destroys all earthly greatness

But, time cannot conquer quintessence

Or rob us of our essence

To mother earth, we all belong

In this modest soil, we shall wither

But our fragrance shall linger in the vistas

Our soulful songs will echo in the rhapsody of cuckoos

Strands of the core shall be part of eternal spring

That rushes, gushes comes cascading down to engulf being

Name, fame, riches. pelf -

All shall perish in the course of time

Our good deeds will be our sole companion

Guide us through turbulent waters

Help us sing the eternal rhyme

The journey of our lives is suffused with a purpose

Wise living dives deeper to negotiate with it

Gets the taste of whole

We need to attune to the truth

The ultimate teaching of all.
