Dear diary,

Life’s become a dystopian novel,

Which seems pretty awful to me.

The virus, the Australian bushfires,

and the threat of World War Three.

The way 2020 has started is the

worst it could possibly be.

‘Happy New Year,’ they said, all smiles,

‘May this one be the best so far.’

The wildest book you’ll ever read

pan style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent;">is a 2020 memoir.

The strongest word I’ll use is “disastrous”

and the mildest word’s “bizarre.”

The whole city’s on lockdown,

So we stay at home all day.

By day one, we’ve run out of things to do,

or see, or think, or play.

If this is the future, then I think

The past’s a better place to stay.
