PURSE STRINGS (Nov.12 Theme: Money)

The lure of the lucre attracts many and sundry,

Beside self-gratification, it loses its charm honestly.

In the rat race to acquire more and more money,

We have all become friendless and are all loony.

It is believed that money gives power

But it’s never said that the means push us to depths lower,

The power of the mind reigns over the power of the wallet

It is a truism to be digested and washed down the gullet.

Wealth makes us lose all sense of balance,

The jingle of coins in the purse providing a parlance.

We must use our coffers for a healthy cause,

It’s easier said than done – it is after all a because 

The heady feeling of becoming rich one day,

Makes us all dream on and on, come what may,

Magnetic effect of money is hard to ignore-

Let’s not say, “Without money, life is a bore!”
