It's Called Common Courtesy

It's Called Common Courtesy

How would you feel if one went over your head?

Insisting that it's no big deal,

Not once considering where things stand but instead,

Time and time again you'll find your say is what they steal.

They'll make decisions whether or not you agree,

But such things only happen because they've gained ground,

Because without realizing it others step down repeatedly,

When on these people, they should rebound.

Say there are two people living together,

And they each have others over from time to time,

Then that of course is one matter,

Thus that sort of thing is fine.

If the other doesn't keep their roommate's considerations in mind,

Then that roommate must put their foot down,

For the biggest mistake, one will find,

If not acted upon to the other's wants the roommate will be bound.

If you find yourself deciding things based on what you want,

Despite the inconveniences, you put others through,

Then this lesson which I've just brought,

Is targeted specifically to you.

For it is a common courtesy which you lack,

Though you may not realize,

The actions you take and the ones you impact,

Will only repeat if it's known that in the end, that problem one denies
