What you see & what you hear depends a great deal on where you standing.

When you find the lines are blurred,

Between the truth and a fairytale,

And a variety of sad rumors is all that's heard,

It may seem as if you're trapped in a gale.

Once some friends went out for a spin,

As a night of pleasure was the thought,

But they were struck by tragedy in the end,

As a loss of life was all they got.

When those they knew had been alerted,

Many were saddened and in shock,

While some knew this outcome couldn't be averted,

As for them, this, they'd experienced a lot.

Who hasn't questioned what it is they should believe?

As we've asked ourselves what we should do,

We often find all we can do is grieve,

When we realize we can't see a way through.

But there is an angle we must consider,

What we're told we shouldn't instantly perceive as fact,

Especially as it may in the end become a trigger,

Ultimately dictating how we will act.

While we can't revise events to calm the nerve,

As we find there are things we don't want to lose,

Try to put these thoughts on reserve,

For that which you want, you can still choose

It helps nothing by dwelling on what is torn at the seam,

Especially when you can't stop the incoming tide,

While there are those things we can't glean,

Be it friends or objects, either can serve as your guide
