Life is an occasion, Rise to it.
Life is an occasion, Rise to it.
It's great to try to catch a break,
It's great to want to share a tale,
With each,inevitably twists & turns they'll take,
One thing however determines whether they can succeed or they can fail.
Long ago I watched a story that brought wonder to the screen,
He was not well known Mr Magorium,
But his shop brought imagination rarely seen,
With Mahoney his assistant (until her boss's role was done)
He wasn't young it was natural for him to inact,
As unknown to those closest to him,
Setting his affairs in order some took this as an attack,
As his shop of wonders refused everything on a whim.
Mahoney just finding out was left reeling,
As he kept his head refusing to shout,
Why was this the card life was dealing?
As his assistant insisted on trying to delay his rout.
She took him out not missing a beat,
1st cotten candy, dancing and a carnival,
As the day came to end he thanked her as she took a seat,
"I don't want to go," she stated inconsolable.
In king Act V know what he's written?
"He dies, that's all, no more, no brilliant final words,
He: a genius comes up with he dies,"
All the while Mahoney listens now stricken.
Yet everytime I read these words I'm overwhelmed with dysphoria,
And I know it's only natural to be sad,
But not due to the words "he dies"
but rather due due to the stories therebefore.
I've lived all five of my acts,
I'm not asking that you be happy I go,
That said turn the page: continue reading, don't look back,
As with everything the next story you must show
He relates this to his death,
Which of course was the point,
That said I saw this in another light & almost wept,
As though not to the same degree there's another thing that does disappoint.
It's grown progressively worse over time,
Much like immortality it's something we insist on stubbornly,
That not only do certain aspects we get to define,
But reactions outside the expected we can take sullenly.
But I am going to say this right off the bat,
The reason this speech was good,
The reason it didn't fall flat,
"He dies",he didn't sugarcoat it-he left it at that.
We have these stories and movies from years before,
And nostalgia is a great thing,
But just like life-the story must end:this we can't ignore,
What's the point of being a creator if remakes & sequel upon sequel are all you can bring
