Hydrangeas in the Rain
Hydrangeas in the Rain
Sinful is a peacock vain;
For it celebrates the heaven's despair, the earth's bane;
Hydrangeas of mauve and blue;
They bear misery's every hue.
A gift from the divine ladies and the lords;
Gratitude sprinkled; debts as deep as the fjords;
Hence they bloom with grace;
Purple, pink, magenta, droplets of appreciation upon their face.
Beneath a veil of rain, silver and delicate;
The environs draped in a mantle of soft slate;
Like amethyst and sapphire;
Florets glimmer under the rainbow they pray for and desire.
A vessel of water, the deluge of despondency they soak;
Consummating unions, they wed the soil and the air, the two don a transparent diamond cloak;
If hatred the petals can erase;
O beautiful bird, turquoise and green; with your frivolity... in the floating monsoon... you have no place.
