Maa Durga draped in crimson red saree, bejewelled with a bright red sindoor on forehead 

Her painted pupils half cut in the smoke bellowing from burning diyas 

We, devotees gathered around in reverence of her majestic aura with folded hands and tear in eyes 

Heavy fragrance of a musk incense fills the air 

Flooding our senses and drugging our lips with her chants 

Celeberating cheerful smiles and sparks in our eyes, removing a gloom from our weary hearts  

Children young and old too relish eating Maa Durga's prasad on their palms 

Symbolic victory of Maa Durga over the Evil 

Her teaching to her devotees is to forsake violence and learn to accept love

Maa Durga the invincible, the powerful 

We bow Humbly on her divine feet to be blessed with her affection.
