Being Thankful
Being Thankful
In a vast arid life of thorns and bushes
A tiny seed of gratitude blossomed
Peeping through a grain of sand
Looking at me it curiously smiled
I'm rare to find on someone's lips, he said
A world consumed with so much vanity is blind
If every heart evokes an emotion of being thankful
Would it not be the greatest gift to human mankind
A step walked in humility is a sacred path of countless blessings
Draping our lives with a rich tapestry of compassion and kindness
A transformation of a wounded heart happen
When someone touches it with a kind word and not a piercing dagger
Grateful hearts can do so many wonders
Every relationship old and new in all its warmth rekindles
On this Thanksgiving day, I seek to pledge
Imbibing a positive affirmation of an appreciation for all the little joys my life is blessed with
