Privilege

We are lucky beyond what we can gauge,

For we aren't trapped in a cage,

We aren't fighting a disease in last stage,

You know what, we are privileged.

We wake to see the morning sun,

We have people to talk,to have fun,

On every failure, we have a chance to learn,

We have the talent to work and earn.

We might have a broken heart,

Our livelihood may depend on a food cart,

Life for some might be like walking a tight rope,

With our smile to them we can impart some hope.

People are dealing with pain, hard to cope.

A year so tough has come to an end,

A helping hand to all around lets lend,

Lets feel our breath, our heart beat,

We are privileged, we are still standing strong on our feet!
