Poor Perish

The waves of hunger

Spreading along the streets

In this pandemic the strife

Is traversing along the course of retreat.

Unemployment bouncing to the

Core of existence,

Life sounds ironical with millionaires

On the same soil take a nap for instance.

The dearth of food and

unsatiated thirst throng around,

The quest is debilitating

Starving breaths wincing aloud.

The poor perish hard

Amidst the biowar at the border,

With no wage in hand

The survival is in dilemma.

Poverty seems no more a struggle

To overcome, but only choice to succumb.

Millions of ripen souls, Have only a way

To crumble into their unchosen roles.
