Pluviophile Memoirs

Pluviophile Memoirs

1 min 314 1 min 314

Scorching summer ends and I rejoice like beep,

Nature seems awakened from its deep sleep,

As the petrichor fill my heart and soul,

Finding the dancing peacock used to be my goal,

The glory of wearing drench uniforms to school,

Those new umbrellas and raincoats cool,

Trying to escape from splashes while traversing on road,

Cursing rains for waterlogging abode,

Best playgrounds dirty puddles and trailing mud holes,

Mommy with fierce and Daddy with smile at my clothes,

School shoes chap- chap, sinking in sand wet,

Dubious rain forfeit my cricket match bet,

Those little paper boats my Dadu construct,

To let them sail with a lighted diva abduct,

Those unexpected guests I liked most but not anyone else,

The snails, frogs, mud, dirt, rainy water deluge what else,

Coming home by evening smelling those hot pakoras,

Traffic bottlenecks surround cars and rickshaws,

Expecting rainbow for sunlight hides and seeks rain

Loved the camouflage of colours that follows in vain,

Longing those picturesque landscapes to capture,

Those memoirs cause my tears to rupture,

Wish to pen my monsoon diaries today,

I, a pluviophile this wheelchair cant obstruct my way.
