Waiting for you

Waiting for you

1 min 189 1 min 189

Disheveled, my hair look so dry after three hours of rains,

I wait being there still oblivious of the streets,

Tourists walk around me here and there bewildered

When they try to smile, I do not give a smile back

But I am still standing here. Not even the chilly winds and the chirping leaves are able to open my glued mouth.

I walk finally along my favourite beach side

In dazzling fashion accessories public stores,

Waiting for you to surprise me.

The corners of the store aimed by my eyes in search for something strange, only to

get filled with tears? Oh yes, it's me in the mirror grief stricken, shaken, unable to believe.

Why is it so noticeable from my face?

I get daily surprise gifted parcel every day for a week

The postman also used to chuckle on me everytime he came to dispatch

And shakes his head every time with a smile, this time in utter disbelief

"Why are you not happy mam, it's your Anniversary"? he says.

I tell him, "He is gone. I just came after getting him buried. He is no more.

The parcels are still coming as he ordered them one week before to surprise me as always!!!"
