Somewhere, Somewhen
Somewhere, Somewhen
[In the game of life,
every now is a fresh start,
and every then carries the end,
Just around the bend,
Nowhere, nowhen…]
I'm crying all alone,
tears melting down my face,
and my dreams are my guests.
I'm crouching in a cage,
under the indifferent stars,
and my fears are the bars.
I'm standing on a stage,
lights are out, my act already done,
and yet it's not begun.
I'm locked up all alone,
beneath the bed of an endless sea,
and my mind holds the key.
I'm bound hand and foot
to a boulder on the lip of a ravine,
and my hopes are my chain.
I'm crying all alone,
blood pouring from my eyes,
while my heart rolls the dice.
[In the game of life,
a beginning may be the end,
an end may begin the world anew,
Just around the bend,
Somewhere, somewhen…]
