Winter's Embrace
Winter's Embrace
In the winter's embrace, Christmas Day is here,
A time of joy and love, where hearts hold dear.
But in this season of goodwill and cheer,
Lurks a tale of darkness, a shadow severe.
For all rejoice, in homes adorned with light,
Laughter and merriment fill the silent night.
Yet in a corner, where a poet resides,
A soul consumed by hunger, where love subsides.
With eyes that gleam with envy's bitter glare,
This one, consumed by greed, knows not how to share.
While others gather 'round, exchanging gifts with glee,
This heart, hardened by malnourishment, cannot truly see.
While carols fill the air, melodies so sweet,
This troubled soul remains lost in self-deceit.
The spirit of Christmas, a stranger at their door,
For wickedness has cast its spell, forevermore.
