Piano Man

Piano Man

1 min 236 1 min 236

There was a piano man on 52nd street

And nothing was more sorrowful than his tragic beat

So lonely, so pale, so gaunt was he

Especially when he played so tragically

There had been a rumor on 52nd street

That the piano man once traveled the world to play his beat

One said he was famous, the other said he was rich

One said he couldn't fathom how his life had turned to this

People loved the music on 52nd street

That was played by the piano man— though a tragic beat

Children would sit outside his house and listen

And always there was, young little Madison

Little Madison lived on 52nd street

She loved to listen to the piano man's beat

She was a little dancer who danced to the beat

Together with the tapping of her little feet

Her mother had just moved to 52nd street

And they loved when they heard the first sound of the beat

Especially Madison who heard it one day

When out she went with her friends to play

Suddenly one day down at 52nd Street

The piano man had stopped playing his tragic beat

And there he held hands with little Madison's mom

And what a family they had really become

There was a piano man on 52nd street

And nothing was more jubilant than his joyful beat

So happy, so glad, so blessed was he

Especially when he played to his family
