One Last Time
One Last Time
So many die with words unsaid
left on their lips
So many die
with hope in their eyes
What thought must have lingered
while they left
Falling into life’s depth
So many unkept promises, ambitions
All disappeared
amidst the constellations
Probably lost forever in the endless universe
While they were breathing their last breath
Their whole life must have flooded back
All those memories felt for the last time
Before they saw the world for one last time
Oh how they’d feared death all their lives
And now hugging it like companions who hadn’t met for lives
Then they close their eyes
And now forget the feeling of being alive
And go where the dark shadow of death takes them
Unable to do anything
The last time they’d remember
They’d been death’s long, lost member
