On Reaching God

To the mighty question -' What is God ?'

My inquiring mind finds but one answer -

Anything is God 

And everything is God;

For God is anything 

Which sustains you;

God is anything you look at 

With adoration and awe;

God is anything that uplifts you 

And pulls at the heartstrings of your soul.

If you adore Food, even Food is God;

If Sleep attracts you, Sleep is God;

If Wealth stirs your bones, Wealth is God;

If you work at Work, Work is God;

If Music makes you respond, Music is God;

If Nature soothes you, then Nature is God.

If Fame is what you strive for, Fame is God;

If Beauty uplifts you, Beauty is God;

If Learning sustains you, Learning is God;

If you love Love, then Love is God.

The forms of God are infinite 

For every creation is part of God.

Man, at first loves the lower Gods,

The narrow Gods, the smaller Gods,

But at length is slowly drawn to 

The Greater One, the Only One,

And, rising thru' different planes of consciousness, 

Emerging thru' different levels of evolution 

Finally finds fulfilment 

In reaching Him, who is above all.
