Nostalgia

Nostalgia always creeps in 

When I sit ruminating on the past with my kin.

Those were the days, we all agree,

When our life was innocence loaded and carefree!

“Remember when we....?”is the sentence most repeated,

And everyone has a story about that incident to tell.

But surprisingly none of them match,

As everyone remembers only his role in the mischief patch!

 

Lazy summer afternoons filled with pranks,

And devising ways of getting out of spanks.

Days resounded with laughter and mirth,

And home made delicacies added to the spreading girth.

Recalling those days is like a boost in the arms,

Specially when the pandemic is raising the world alarm.

To lose oneself in the song and dance recall,

Yes, my friend is to go back in time and remain enthralled.

Memories are what our life is all about,

It enriches our lives, of that there is no doubt.

Where would we all be without our past?Coz even with us gone,

With its recollect we in our family’s picture, our time on the Earth outlast.
