My Father

My Father

I felt disappointed; Almost a sense of Betrayal,

With seething rage, I Encountered him,

What kind of a father Are you?

Where were you? when I Needed you most!

You made me, only to Abandon me?

To a sad and lonely life, Waiting for love!

His radiance seeping Through me,

His calm demeanour, Unperturbed!

He said, “Dear child,

I have never left your Side.

Love does not meet you In waiting,

It comes rushing, if you Only bothered,

To look tenderly around You”

I was annoyed at his Casual audacity,

And he continued,

I was right there, in your Face, every time

But, you failed to Recognise me.

Didn’t you see me in the Cheerful little girl,

Who helped an old man, Cross the road?

A smile, a compliment, a Word of encouragement.

Showered on you, on a Really bad day,

Doesn’t that sound like Love to you?

The man that fed dogs, In the evening.

The teacher who strives,

To give a purpose,

To the homeless.

A friend’s shoulder, a Pat on the back

A warm hug, a gentle Squeeze,

A finger that wiped a Tear,

Didn’t you feel me then?

Blinded by your glaring Self pity,

And melancholy, you Refused to see me.

Grudges stifled, the Meek voice of kindness. .

Let go my child,

Don’t dwell in the Solemn shades of Endless nights.

Allow me, to bestow my Divine light.

I woke up with a jolt, a Surge of ecstasy,

I saw love and beauty,

In kindness and Humanity.

My blindfold untied,

By my Father,

In Heaven.
