My Courageous Move
My Courageous Move
I am a homemaker, I am happy to say,
In spite of a flourishing career at home, I chose to stay.
What brought about this paradigm shift, you ask me?
It was the fear of my child creche brought up, you will agree.
I am a homemaker, as proud as proud can be,
No job satisfaction can be greater than this, I guarantee.
Working all odd hours, without any break or pay,
It requires great organizational skills at your display.
I am a homemaker, tending to my family’s needs
The day goes in preparing innumerable feeds,
Rushing through the chores all day long,
In my heart, I know this is where I belong.
I am a homemaker, as bright as a lark,
On this front now I have to make my mark.
Up at the crack of a dawn,
I get down to work, humming a song.
I am a homemaker, in love with my family,
The day goes in looking after them happily.
It’s a choice I have made with a lot of thought,
Warm cuddly hugs from my dear ones in my kitty it has brought.
I am a homemaker and have the courage to acknowledge,
That in spite of being an alumna of a top business college;
I find it more fulfilling and rewarding to be at home,
And not just because I have an extra X chromosome.
