My Country

There is an immense sense of pride 

Whenever I write 

About my country 

Stretching North to South from Kashmir to Kanyakumari 

From Bengal in the East 

To Rajasthan in the West 

Speaking diverse languages 

Yet cohesive as a whole 

Many invaders tried to 

encroach, many tried to 

create a divide between 

the North and the South 

We stand united despite 

Under the clear blue skies 

Holding the tricolor flag 

that binds us as a nation 

This country has the best brains 

This country is self reliant 

This country can stand on it's own 

This country is old 

And carries values of 

showing love, and respect

to all it's citizens.

It's social fabric is strong 

and can withstand wars.
