My Country -My Pride
My Country -My Pride
There have been times,
When many of us,
Think of the golden days,
Which might have been,
If we were not here but elsewhere.
Do we have a minute?
To sit and think,
Who gave us the freedom,
Of such a thought?
Long back I too,
Had my head full of thoughts
Of going elsewhere,
And becoming someone else.
Then suddenly,
Realization came to me,
What have I given my land?
That I should hope for riches elsewhere.
She gave me the freedom,
Of opting for others,
When I should have been here,
She gave me all rights,
To speech, to vote
To information,
And mostly to be critical,
Of her custodians.
Without the fear,
Of Death and defamation.
She is and WILL always remain,
MY COUNTRY, MY PRIDE.
