Mundane Winter Harmonies
Mundane Winter Harmonies
Freezing winter chills,
And silent cold night,
Beautiful December
Preserved in white snow,
Barren landscapes,
Bare branches heavily attired with snow.
Frozen tears burdened in eyes
The heart chooses to warm
With the flames of the fire
Burning in the old fireplace,
Blurred wishes for winter are listed beneath the mistletoe.
Stockings aligned by glistening tinsel,
Embrace the hibernating happiness
within the coldness of snow,
Chunks of wooden logs burnt,
in the dying embers enkindling
The memories of frost and me,
Under the marmalade skies,
Count the number of winter days.
