I —N — D — I — A

The tricolor flag boldly flutters in perfect elevated alliance with the Himalayan peak,

Cerulean sky peers to crown like a queen,

Queendom reigns in dominance,

Cherishing the gallants bravery,

Saluting to their martyrdom.

Age old dilapidated mansions echoes the untold gloomy stories,

Civilizations evolved and perished glistens on the pages of Indian history,

Glimpses of the struggles of blood stained voices,

Weaved a tapestry of hatred embellished violence.

Gallons of emotions loathed my heart,

Still endured an urge to overcome the fear of battlefield,

Nauseating raw smell of gun powder,

Battling the blasts over the crimson streets,

Yet saddled mind bid farewell.

Mind envisioned 1947 on the canvas of my eyes,

Tears painted an independent India’s picture picking colors from the palette of love and unity.
