We were both united,

By the same celestial star that we share,

Rohini, that is.

But to me, I was united to him,

In more incredible ways.

I fell for him,

The day I heard about his Raas Leela,

From my "abbaja".

She had narrated about him to me,

In such a way that,

She sowed the seed of paramount love and affection towards him in my heart.

I fell for him,

The day I had first gone to "guruvayoor"

I could feel his presence, his naughtiness that filled in the air.

I fell for him,

When I was two,

The day I had a monstrous fever,

Placing all my dear and near ones in worry.

He was the first being I called for help.

He stood there holding me tight,

He still does to this date,

Whenever I call him, he is there,

The first one to be there.

When I see him with the gopikas,

Jealousy becomes the second emotion that runs through me,

Just after possessiveness.

I'm neither Radha, his dearest lover as folklores and old tales say, nor meerabhai,

Who knew nothing beyond and before him.

I'm not Draupadi,

Known for her devotion, that turned out to be the only savior of her dignity.

I'm also not Kamala das who the world knows,

For her poems, her writings that describe her intense affection towards him.

But, a normal girl

Who knows she belongs to him,

Who sees him in all manifestations of godliness,

Who sees a reflection of him in all the beings that she loves,

Who has imbued in her,

He is her first love, last love, and forever love.

She who calls him dearly,

Now and then,

With all her heart and soul "my Krishna"
