Metamorphosis

She's no more the girl, 

Whom you left heartbroken. 

She's no more the girl, 

Who cared selflessly for you. 

The twists and turns of life

Taught her to be rational. 

She no longer gets carried away, 

By little emotions in her mind. 

She no longer feels the void, 

That you once left in her heart. 

She no more longs for you

To feel the same as she felt for you. 

The scars that you left on her, 

Taught her how dangerous love can be. 

The heartache that you caused her, 

Changed her from who she once used to be. 

She's now a grown woman, 

Aware of life's complexities.

She no longer invests selflessly on people, 

For she knows how cruel the world can be.

She no longer breaks her boundaries, 

For people who don't bother about her. 

She no longer pleads anyone to stay, 

She knows now how to let people go.

No more does she search for a companion, 

She knows beauty of life is in solitude. 

She now doesn't searches for love outwards, 

For she knows real love lies within.

Experiences of life taught her a lot, 

These experiences brought her a lot of pain. 

But the lessons she learnt in the tough times,

She believed those would never go in vain.

Heartbreaks changes people and so did her, 

The hurt that you had caused 

Changed her from who she was, 

An entire different soul now resides in her. 

But even after been through all the suffering, 

She still owns the heart she had before. 

But now she has grown wise enough, 

To decide who deserves a part of her heart. 

Looking back now she owes you 

The credit for her transition, 

For had you not left her heart broken,
