I saw you once with my friends,

You fell for me in an instant, but I didn’t,

You were ever so charming, masculine, and gentle,

And you treated me like the man that I could never be with.

Our friends went their way,

Leaving us to be with ourselves,

You treated me with your special lunch,

You knew exactly what I liked, too.

Never have I known a man laugh like you did that day,

Never have I known such gentle and considerate manner,

You showed me a whole new level of human character,

You kept me entertained, till I couldn’t help but fall in love.

Alas, though, it was just a pleasant dream,

’Cause when I opened my eyes, you were nowhere around,

Dream so exquisite, I wished it never ended,

Now I need to search and find you, wherever you are.

Left me and gone, but I’ll keep searching for you,

’Cause you were the kind of man I always wanted,

You and I had so many things in common,

But, could it be that you’re too good for me?

If you’re actually somewhere out there,

I’d like to see you again,

Perhaps you won’t recognize me and I may not, too,

But, it’s nice to hope for a love long gone undeserved.
