Love Is A Mirage

Hush! Hush! My Mickey mouse, that's what I lovingly called you, and,

I probably still do despite the passage of time and space,

Warm, saline tears plow down my bushy, haggard cheeks,

I feel the emptiness now,

I still smell the soft fragrance of your vanilla perfume on your clothes,

But all is hazy now, you are like a mirage in a desert.

Despite the dry, horrid season, I have climbed Mount Nemesis many times, It's the only serene place on earth,

We had built a nest we called home,

We had fished, picked wild mushrooms and blueberries from its bounties! 

The bustle of a congested town no longer excites me, it is like a lone sentry in a vast meadow of green carpeting,

This is now my ghost town, a place of broken dreams and dashed hopes,

I feel its loneliness, no more hugs!

Years have passed by, but the hurricane in my heart still whirls round, in circles, longing to touch you one more time,

For a while, such feelings have persisted, may remain.

My love will no longer trouble you,

I do not wish to cause you any more pain than necessary, you flew away at dusk with the obsidian crows,

Your death pulled the rag under my feet, sleep well my crimson Queen, 

Now I hide in the dark shadows, detached from reality, waiting patiently for my candle to burn out!
