Love Conquers All
Love Conquers All
They looked at each other mistily,
Love mirroring in their eyes.
She smiled at him tremulously,
They had finally shed all the lies.
No more hiding from the world at large,
Or finding excuses to meet at will;
With one single stroke they had dismissed the charge,
Of Inter caste faith their fate was sealed.
The strident voices fell on deaf ears,
They had by now conquered their fears.
The time for tears was long gone,
They were now looking towards a new dawn.
Together they had gathered courage,
To bind themselves in irrevocable marriage.
The dream that they had seen since their teenage years,
Had led to fruition with the help of their friends and peers.
It was no calf-love, as they both knew,
Their love had deepened as they both grew;
Surely what else could it be but a cosmic connection,
Their love had withstood all the religious objections.
The vicious attacks were now a thing of the past,
They had surpassed the odds and the die was cast.
Holding hands and with confident strides,
They had left behind the minds that divide.
