Lives And Friends
Lives And Friends
Hi fren! Hi fren,
My parrot chirps,
I look at it admiringly, wondering
What happened to my perps?
We were the most mischievous,
And some called us devilish,
Partners in crime we were,
Specially in the class where they taught English
Teachers didn’t torture us,
It was the other way round,
Every year there wasn’t even one,
Who would not frown
Inseparable we were,
Mettlesome in our activities,
Contemned we were,
called a bane and a curse, in our locality
School had been fun,
With my friends by my side,
It ended too soon,
The days sure did glide
Years went by slower,
from thereon,
We met at intervals, whenever we could,
But soon, quite soon, it was all just gone
Married and with kids,
We soon forgot to even call,
As the burdens of life took us,
We waited for our bodies to fall
Alone now, with nothing to do,
Rocking on my old wooden chair,
I remember those days fondly,
Reminiscing those crazy plans we made in our lair
